Tracy Jacobs builds playful interactive kinetic sculptures in her home studio in Oakland, CA. She grew up in the midwest and has been making art all her life: BFA University of Minnesota 93 in Sculpture, MFA Indiana University 98 in Sculpture. She has been exploring content about Science especially Biology for years, most recently using technology as a medium, and trying to make work that is more interactive, green , and educational. She is working on a kinetic sculpture kit that young people can put together to learn how engineering and art practices can be combined in a fun project. She owes her electronics and programming education to the internet and open source movement.
